1. Web Hosting

1.1 Suspension or Cancellation Metro Vancouver IT reserves the right to suspend or cancel any customer’s access to services if inappropriate use of the account is detected. Access to servers or services may be refused at our discretion.

1.2 Web Space and Bandwidth Usage

  • Hosting accounts are allocated specific amounts of space and bandwidth for legitimate website content and visitor access.
  • Files must be directly related to the active website and appropriately linked.
  • Multimedia files, including MP3s, should be hosted via appropriate streaming services (youtube, vimeo, soundcloud etc.).
  • Accounts with unpaid balances for over 30 days may have their files, data, and emails permanently deleted. Reactivation fees may apply for reinstating services.

1.3 Script Usage

  • Scripts must generate web-based content and not overload server resources.
  • Bulk email generation or scripts manipulating server timeouts are prohibited.

1.4 Prohibited Site Content

  • Primary content must provide web-based value to users.
  • Sites must not include:
    • Illegal or copyright-infringing material.
    • Unlinked or inactive files (e.g., MP3s, Videos, archives).
    • Pornographic or lewd material.
    • Resource-intensive or malicious scripts.

1.5 Domain Use

  • Adding multiple unrelated domains to a single account for SEO purposes is not allowed. Domains must be relevant to the hosting activity.

2. Email Services

2.1 Problematic Email Practices

  • Accounts causing email issues (e.g., spam, circular loops) will have offending mailboxes adjusted or services suspended.

2.2 Email Prohibitions

  • Emails must not:
    • Be unsolicited, offensive, or intended for fraud.
    • Generate annoyance or anxiety to recipients.

2.3 Bulk and Unsolicited Mail

  • Bulk unsolicited emails or open mail relays are strictly prohibited. Domains causing complaints may face suspension.

3. Managed and Unmanaged Dedicated Servers

3.1 Server Responsibility

  • Customers are responsible for the security and activities of their dedicated servers.
  • Servers may be disconnected for activities such as network scans, hacking attempts, or unusual traffic patterns affecting others.

4. General Provisions

4.1 Compliance with Law Enforcement Metro Vancouver IT actively cooperates with law enforcement to reduce internet crime.

4.2 Account Suspension Accounts with invalid details or chargebacks will be suspended. Notifications will be sent to unaffected email addresses.

4.3 Abuse Investigations

  • Correspondence regarding investigations must be directed to the support team.
  • Restoration of suspended services is considered on a case-by-case basis.

4.4 Communication For minor issues, our support team will notify affected accounts and provide solutions during office hours.


5. Limited Liability

5.1 Liability Limitation Metro Vancouver IT’s liability for damages is strictly limited to the amount paid for the current month of service.

5.2 Severability If any provision is deemed invalid, other provisions remain enforceable.

5.3 Supersession These terms supersede all previous agreements. Use of services constitutes acceptance of this AUP.
