Quebec data centre
Primary Canadian hosting capacity is available through OVH infrastructure in Quebec, giving clients Canadian data residency and strong east-coast connectivity.
Hosting platform
This is an explanation of the Metro Vancouver IT hosting platform: Canadian OVH data centres in Quebec and Toronto, Cloudflare CDN setup, OVH network-edge protection, SiteWorx, backups, and account isolation.
Data centres
Our hosting platform uses OVH data centre infrastructure in Canada. The main locations we describe to clients are Quebec and Toronto.
Primary Canadian hosting capacity is available through OVH infrastructure in Quebec, giving clients Canadian data residency and strong east-coast connectivity.
Toronto capacity gives us another Canadian OVH location for hosting workloads that benefit from Ontario routing, redundancy, or client preference.
OVH anti-DDoS protection is built into the network fabric, so volumetric attacks are mitigated before malicious traffic reaches the server.
Included platform pieces
These are platform features around the hosting account. Availability depends on whether the account is WordPress hosting or VPS.
We help set up the Cloudflare account and configuration free of charge, including DNS guidance, SSL mode review, CDN, and worldwide caching.
WordPress hosting accounts include a software cloud / one-click application installer. On VPS accounts, this can be added as an additional feature.
We do not use cPanel for this platform. Eligible accounts use SiteWorx from InterWorx for hosting controls, free SSL tools, domains, email, FTP/SFTP, and app management.
SSL management is provided through the hosting control panel, with Cloudflare SSL settings reviewed during setup when Cloudflare is in front.
For WordPress sites, we offer off-site backup services and provide the setup free so backups are not tied only to the hosting server.
For VPS accounts, free 24-hour backups are included with one-day retention. Longer retention can be scoped separately if needed.
Security layers
We describe the stack as four practical layers. We do not include the Imunify360 layer from the reference page.
DDoS attacks are stopped at the OVH network edge, before attack traffic reaches the hosting server.
Application firewall rules help block common website attacks such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting, brute-force attempts, and known exploit patterns.
Login and account access points are protected with throttling, blocking, and security controls appropriate to the hosting account.
Accounts run on Rocky Linux with dedicated resource limits. Files, databases, and processes are sandboxed from neighbouring accounts.
Account isolation
Hosting accounts are separated with dedicated resource limits. Your files, database, and processes are sandboxed from other accounts on the same server.
Account isolation is part of the platform design. It reduces the chance that a problem in one account can affect another account and gives each site clearer CPU, memory, and process boundaries. This is separate from Cloudflare and OVH network protection; it protects the hosting environment itself.
