Website Maintenance Services — Updates, Backups & Support

Website maintenance services that keep your business site updated, backed up, secure, and actually working: safe software updates with rollback, daily off-site backups, uptime monitoring, contact form and email delivery checks, DNS/SSL care, and same-day triage when something breaks. Run by a Vancouver team, serving Metro Vancouver and clients across Canada.

  • Scheduled software updates (CMS core, themes, plugins) staged and tested before production
  • Daily off-site backups with tested restore paths — not just "backups exist somewhere"
  • 24/7 uptime monitoring with a human who responds, not just an alert email
  • Contact form, email delivery, DNS, SSL, and hosting checks so leads never silently disappear
  • Security hardening, vulnerability tracking, and incident response when needed
  • Same-day triage for urgent website issues, with a clear escalation path

What you get

How Website Maintenance Services — Updates, Backups & Support actually works

Concrete deliverables — no vague SaaS jargon. Each engagement is sized to your business and reviewed monthly.

Proactive updates

WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates with staging preview and rollback so routine maintenance does not create a new emergency.

Urgent triage

When a site is down, throwing errors, or blocking leads, we check the safest path first and explain what can be fixed immediately.

Reliable backups

Off-site backup services and restore planning so repairs have a fallback before risky changes are made.

Forms & email

Contact forms, SMTP, DNS records, spam filtering, and notification failures checked end to end.

Hosting, DNS & SSL

Expired SSL, DNS changes, redirects, server errors, PHP versions, and hosting limits reviewed before deeper code work.

Security hygiene

Hardening, plugin vulnerability tracking, and incident response with clear post-incident notes.

Who it is for

A strong fit for

  • Businesses without an in-house web team
  • Sites running WordPress, WooCommerce, Drupal, PHP, or a custom CMS
  • Owners tired of firefighting after every update
  • Teams that need predictable monthly billing and clear SLAs
  • Sites recovering from a prior hack, outage, abandoned plugin, or hosting problem
  • Organizations that need backups, forms, DNS, SSL, and uptime checked together

Our process

What a maintenance cycle looks like

Every plan runs on the same disciplined loop, so nothing depends on someone remembering to check your site.

  1. 1

    Onboarding audit

We inventory your CMS, plugins, hosting, DNS, SSL, forms, and backups, fix anything urgent, and record a known-good baseline before routine cycles begin.

  2. 2

    Monitor continuously

Uptime, SSL expiry, domain records, and software vulnerability feeds are watched around the clock — problems surface as alerts to us, not surprises to you.

  3. 3

    Stage & test updates

Core, theme, and plugin updates are applied on staging first, checked visually and functionally, then rolled out to production with a rollback ready.

  4. 4

    Verify what matters

After each cycle we test the pages that earn you money: contact forms, checkout, booking, and email notifications — end to end, not just "the homepage loads".

  5. 5

    Back up & confirm

Daily off-site backups run automatically, and restores are tested periodically so a backup is a real safety net rather than a checkbox.

  6. 6

    Report in plain English

A short summary each cycle: what was updated, what was prevented, uptime, and anything we recommend fixing next — no jargon, no upsell pressure.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does website maintenance include?
A complete plan covers five areas: software updates (CMS core, themes, plugins) staged and tested before going live; daily off-site backups with tested restores; security — vulnerability tracking, hardening, and malware response; monitoring of uptime, SSL certificates, and domain records; and functional checks of the things that earn you money, like contact forms, checkout, and email notifications. Our plans include all five, plus a support-hour allotment for content changes and small fixes.
How much do website maintenance services cost?
Our maintenance work is billed at $120 CAD/hour within structured plans, and most small business sites need 3–4 hours per cycle — so a quarterly-cadence plan works out to roughly $120–$160 per month, while monthly-cadence care for busier or ecommerce sites costs more. One-off fixes outside a plan run $90/hour. After a short site review we quote an exact figure in writing, and every plan is month-to-month.
What maintenance plans do you offer?
Three cadences: Core (updates every 4 months) for simple brochure sites, Pro (quarterly, our most popular) which adds security monitoring and performance tune-ups, and Plus (monthly) for ecommerce and high-change sites, with a priority queue and quick fixes included. All three include staged updates, off-site backups, and 24/7 uptime monitoring — you are choosing frequency, not whether the essentials are covered.
Do I really need website maintenance?
If the site matters to your revenue, yes. WordPress and its plugins ship security patches constantly, and unpatched sites are hacked by automated bots, not targeted attackers — being small does not make you invisible. Beyond security, forms silently stop sending, SSL certificates expire, and hosts change PHP versions. Maintenance is much cheaper than the emergency repair, cleanup, and lost leads that follow neglect.
Do we get dedicated support hours?
Yes. Each plan includes an allotment with transparent tracking and the option to top up if a sprint is unusually busy.
How fast is your response?
Typical first response is within four business hours for routine issues; same-day for urgent website problems. Critical outages are triaged first and handled until the site is stable.
Can you help when a site is already broken?
Yes. If the issue is urgent, start with emergency website repair. We take a fresh backup where possible, check hosting, DNS, SSL, PHP errors, forms, and recent changes, then recommend the safest fix.
Do you troubleshoot contact forms and email delivery?
Yes. We review form configuration, SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, spam filtering, and notification routing so leads do not disappear silently.
What CMSs do you support?
WordPress and WooCommerce primarily, plus Drupal, PHP sites, and static sites. Other stacks by arrangement after an audit.
Can you take over from an existing agency or developer?
Yes — this is one of the most common ways clients arrive. We onboard with a full audit, document the current state, recover any missing access or credentials, and stabilize anything urgent in the first cycle. You do not need to know what your last developer set up; figuring that out is part of onboarding.
